Hippie Tapestries

Top: Forever 21// Button-up: Forever 21// Boots: Steve Madden// Sunglasses: H&M

Right when I looked at this 70's tapestry design shirt, I was of course, inspired to create a 70's look. This design is brilliant, and even though our parents might think it is tacky, it is high fashion chic! All of the colors and crazy patterns I adore at the moment are from the 60's/70's decades. To bring out the color and design of the top, I thought i'd wear my orange sheer button-up. A great summer color that, as you can see from past posts, I love to wear! A great pair of jeans went perfectly, and to top off this groovy outfit, I wore my platform boots ;) No jewelry needed. Simple and fierce is all I was going for, but the sunglasses are a hit!

I hope everyone is inspired and has a far out day! ;))

Here is my last little Waikiki photo shoot. Not only were people probably thinking, I need way too many pictures of myself, but this was supposed to be a relaxing vacation away from any at home obligations. I love blogging, but I definitely needed time to relax with the family. We were in a great location of the city(Where isn't a great location of Hawaii?). All of my family gathered at the Ala Moana Park, a gorgeous park filled with vacationers and local families coming together for a nice Barbecue by the beach. It was right on the water, so we could take a swim and enjoy watching the paddle boarders. Not to mention, it is right across the street from the largest luxury shopping mall in all of Hawaii, the Ala Moana Mall. There was tons of great shopping both in the mall and on the streets of Waikiki, and yes, I did some relaxing shopping myself ;).

About my outfit, again, I was going for a simple and casual look for this vacation. Although this dress was bold and bright, I did not dress it up too much. I just added on a couple of accessories and my laced sandals. This dress is one of my few red clothing items. I try to keep a balance of items in each and every color in my closet, but red and purple have the least amount of items. Which is nuts because my favorite color is purple! I guess favorite color and favorite clothing color is different, but still, purple is gorgeous for any clothing item. This red dress clearly shows that red is a gorgeous color for dresses, and goes great with the tribal style. I especially love the hint of teal in it. I added on a large choker necklace, a cuff, and some bangles to complete the look, and voila! The outfit was made for a day at the park.

I hope everyone is inspired and gets to shopping for their summer wardrobe!

Casual day on the Island

I thought I would take the opportunity to get some photos in during my short weekend trip to Honolulu, HI with the gorgeous scenery and great view off of my balcony. My hotel, The Ilikai, located in the only city like area of Hawaii, Waikiki. I personally am a city girl, and that is why Waikiki is the perfect part of Hawaii for me. It was perfect for a weekend trip. Shopping, relaxing on the beach, and a night out on the town. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the tropical non-city part of any of the islands, but that is definitely for a long week trip where you can just relax and forget what day it is.

I thought I'd split my weekend outfit posts up, so I can focus on one outfit at a time. This outfit was specifically put together for a catamaran ride along the coast, and a drive along the whole island of Oahu in search of the famous "Shrimp Shacks." I kept it casual, comfortable, and fashionable, of course. This great cropped top is basically just a graphic tee cut up, perfect for the summer time. High waisted shorts are a must for a summer outfit; they are great with loose tees. A cute straw hat with a cute up-do to stay cool, and perhaps hide the large frizzy hair for those of you who's hair can't handle humidity ;) And finish it off with fun laced sandals! No jewelry is needed with a simple outfit like this.
I hope everyone enjoyed this outfit as much as I enjoyed wearing it on my beautiful, adventurous day on the island. More outfits and pictures of Oahu to come :]

Leopard and Leather

After my weekend break, I am finally back, and in a fierce fashion mood. I felt the need to wear these ravishing boots. They are a great addition to any outfit, really. They give the outfit the high fashion chic look that can be worn at a club or strolling down melrose ave. They may look awkward and uncomfortable, but I could wear these all day, blister free! I don't know how Steve Madden did it, but these gorgeous boots are just right.

It was a sunny and cool spring day which allowed me to wear this great faux leather jacket. I absolutely love the collar and motorcycle style it has. Underneath, I am wearing a spring must have, a sheer cropped button up. Orange and leopard is one of my favorite combinations. Leopard and any bright color really, but I am definitely feeling orage lately. Black jeans and a simple black cross-body bag finished off this outfit along with my large oval rings.

I hope everyone enjoyed and is inspired for the day!

A Flintstone kind of look

Happy Sunday Everyone!
As I was posting these pictures I couldn't help but think of Pebbles from the Flintstones!!
The bun, the colors and triangles on the dress, and the large necklace. I purchased this dress recently at a thrift store, what a great find, right?! I can dress this lovely piece up with heels and a blazer or dress it down with cute sandals or flats. This is an old necklace and one of my faves from Forever 21, and the large braided bracelet is from downtown LA. Instead of wearing layers upon layers of jewelry I thought i'd wear a couple of big pieces.  The color of my gorgeous Steve Madden platform heels went perfectly! I love wearing a cute little dress or skirt with these heels. I don't want to take away from them by wearing pants, odd I know, but i'm sure you fashionistas get it! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend lovelies!

Mango Fringe!

CHECK. IT. OUT

It was a casual and comfortable outfit for this photo shoot. I just HAD to wear my new vintage sweater because it was nice and cold outside. It was only right that I had some pics with this amazing "fringe-tastic" bag! Check out the great detailing and long "statement" fringes. It is a brilliant bag that will go with any summer outfit! Mismatching is definitely what this bag calls for. So don't over think it and try to match it with the perfect colored shoe or dress. I am really loving these types of bags for the summer! mismatching and patterns galore :] This is a really great brand, Melie Bianco. They have some great new bags for the season, so take a looksie by clicking on either of the photos!

Bright Love

Happy thursday everyone! It is almost the weekend, and I am sure everyone is just as excited as I am! My inspiration for today was the upcoming Holiday, Valentine's Day. I am all for the red and pink combination, but purple is one of my favorite colors and must be incorporated in everything. That is why I am such a big fan of the purple and pink combination for the big V-day. I love the abstract shirt that I am wearing, it really makes the colors in the outfit pop. Don't even get me started on my Steve Madden platforms! I could wear them with every single outfit if I didn't have other shoes that would be neglected. Platform heels run my life right now! It's crazy how this style shoe went from THE shoe to wear in the 70's with great flared pants, to becoming a hooker type see through heel with rhinestones throughout the 90's, and now were back to THE boot to have! I love it. I love looking at fashion and how it cycles throughout the different decades! Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful and bright weekend!
