Florals and Lace

It is a new week filled with sun and summer beauty! I am anxious to actually get my summer started LOL but until then I will just dress like I am on vacation and enjoying the summer sun. These photos were taken in a beautiful town located about an hour away from Los Angeles, Claremont, CA. It is known as the city of trees and PhDs, and this area specifically is known as "The Village." The Village is filled with college students, trendy restaurants, and vintage stores. Some of my favorite shops are located here: Speckled Hens, The Grove Vintage, and Glitter. If you are anywhere near this area, you definitely need to check out these shops and the whole village in general!

On to my ensemble, I love this combination of floral print and lace. This lace cropped top is from H&M and the shorts are from Forever 21. Forever 21 has a great selection of shorts and cropped tops that I need to get my hands on for this season! I decided to wear my new adorable platform heels to give this a chic summer look. I was just reading a great blog post/slideshow by Refinery29 discussing summer essentials, and one of them was the "day to night" heel. I do believe that these heels are just that. This clutch is a beautiful color that is not so much bright, but a perfect compliment to the bright summer prints. You can find this clutch here at Speckled Hens in the village or online at Trend Essentials in many different colors.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

"Go to" dress..

Yes, finally, a new outfit post! I know that ive been inconsistent, and I do apologize for that, but once summer is here I will have more time, hopefully! LOL I am known for taking on too many projects and things at one time, BUT it keeps me on my feet. I am very excited for this summer and the new adventures it will bring! Also, excited for more hours at work, so I have more to spend on clothes ;] Quilty as charged, I am a shopoholic, but what girl isn't? It just takes money and time to actually feed the addiction.
Now on to the main focus of this post, my outfit. I like to call this dress my "go to dress." It is cute, comfortable, and looks like I threw together a cute skirt and shirt without any effort. I accessorized with a cute bow clasped belt and an Urban Expressions woven crossbody bag. The shoes are new and I LOVE them, of course :) They also come in a gorgeous fuchsia color that you can find here, but I thought I needed more neutral colored shoes to go with any simple chic look I pull together. I hope you enjoy this look and have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Ps. Activewear oufit posts will be coming soon! I am in my gym clothes just as much as I am in my normal attire, so why not show off my gym style ;))

Delicate Daisy

Yes, another Spring colorful outfit. It was such a beautfiul day out! This was a very Zoey Deschannel inspired outfit. Bright colors and delicate pieces all in one outfit. I am a huge Zoey fan and loooove that I can see her in her adorable outfits every week on one of my fave shows The New Girl. Anyone else out there a Zoey or New Girl fan??
I love the idea of mixing up colors that are not usually paired together. Like my Orange and Teal combo going on here. The orange/salmon spots are gorgeous for Spring, and YES, I do love ruffles. Although I have a love of ruffles, you CAN go wrong with them. Too much ruffles and ruffles in the wrong places is def a fashion NO-NO.
Besides the elaborate top, I am wearing one of my favorite colors, teal. Also, my cutsie vintage style shoes. The wonderful clutch I have is an Urban Expressions bag with amazing detailing. It has a great quilted design and a cute little tassel. What more could you ask for in a bag :]

I hope everyone is inspired and enjoys!

Dance to Disco

These boots were made for dancing.....!!!

These boots are BA-NAN-AS! I absolutely love them. The color, the style, and the fabric. I love the 70's gogo look they have going on. They are just the type of boots that need just the right outfit to wear. I'm sure you guys know exactly what I mean. These are not your ordinary black leather boots that make your outfit look chic. They go absolutely perfect with skirts and dresses. Especially the ones in style at the moment. All the flowy long skirts and short spunky dresses are made for these boots!
As for the outfit I thought i'd wear fun stripes. Surprising, right!? Me and stripes?! :] I love this brilliant skirt. The high waist is perfect with the flowy flare at the bottom. It makes for a cute dress like outfit when worn with the right shirt. That is why I went with this body-con blouse/leotard. They are perfect to wear under high waisted anything! I finished it off with a simple cardigan. The bags were very neutral colors. I wanted to keep it simple, so the stripes would really pop and the boots would match.  Loving all the designs on these bags. Studded bags are great for this season, especially with bright colors:

Cardigan: Forever 21
Body-Con blouse: Forever 21
Skirt: American Apparel
Boots: Urban Outfitters
Pink Clutch: Urban Expressions
Taupe Studded Clutch: Urban Expressions
Studded Tote: Melie Bianco
Bucket Tote: Melie Bianco

All of these great bags can be found at Trend Essentials!!!!

Thank you for visiting loves!

Great finds for the day

Hey there Fashionistas!

I thought I would share some great items I bought today! I was in the Fashion District in Downtown Los Angeles buying for Speckled Hens. Anyways, Downtown LA's Fashion District, a great place that all fashionistas need to experience at least once. The endless amount of stores that you can buy mass amounts of clothing, accessories, and whatever else Fashion related you can think of. From 7am to about 5pm the streets and stores are filled with tons of people looking for great deals whether it be for themselves or for their retail/ online stores. Everyone hunting for the Top Sellers. It is great! Yes, it is a little exhausting searching thru isles and isles for hours. I know crazy, right?! How can it be exhausting shopping?! It really is looking at every single item carefully and figuring out if it is right for your customer.......Yes, very tiring. What helped was picking out some wonderful items for myself :] That is what you see underneath the text. All the jewelry and accessories are what I found in the District. The great big "statement" earrings that you need to wear with your hair up, so everyone can see them. The knotted, chunky bracelet. The simple yet unique layered necklace with a gorgeous stone, and the classic clutch with great detailing and the cute little tassel. The sweater above is actually from a Vintage Shop right next to Speckled Hens. This is located in the cute downtown village of Claremont, CA. If you around here check these stores out! I am loving all these great finds!! Let me know what you think!

Bouquet of Flowers

Yes, this is the Hair Bow inspired outfit. That lovely mustard bow put me in a delicate flower type mood. After looking at the pictures I realized there is a "Disney Princess" look going on. The flower locket, bow in hair, flowery and flowy dress, tights, and bright lipstick. Again, I am ready for Spring! hehe. Since i'm talking Disney, my "Robin Hood" like shoes are a pair of my favorite flat ankle boots. Although, I usually like a heel, this type of shoe is great to wear with a little Indie type dress. Very casual day at the park type of look. I recommend every have this type of ankle boot! It's a pair of boots that goes great with flowy skirts and shorts. The perfect Spring Shoe if you are not in the mood to wear sandals. I have some great bags featured in these photos! Starting from the top:

Urban Expressions Lilly Clutch in Rust
Urban Expressions Blaire Clutch in Ivory
Danielle Nicole Davina Satchel in Yellow Canvas Combo

Red Siren

This was definitely one of my favorite photoshoots! I cannot get enough of the bright, bold colors for Spring 2012. I especially love when bright colors are paired up with stripes; it just wouldn't be spring without it, right?! You can dress this outfit up with some chic boots or dress it down with some gladiator sandals. Don't forget about bulky, funky jewelry! Gold and flashy is the way to go with jewelry. Check out all the great bags in the photos! There is a great selection of brands: Danielle Nicole, Urban Expressions, and Street Level. You can find these bags for purchase if you click on the picture. There are so many bright colors and patterns to mix and match for this coming Spring! Keep it funky and chic :) Everyone have a wonderful day!

PS. What do you think of the new hair??
