Here is my last little Waikiki photo shoot. Not only were people probably thinking, I need way too many pictures of myself, but this was supposed to be a relaxing vacation away from any at home obligations. I love blogging, but I definitely needed time to relax with the family. We were in a great location of the city(Where isn't a great location of Hawaii?). All of my family gathered at the Ala Moana Park, a gorgeous park filled with vacationers and local families coming together for a nice Barbecue by the beach. It was right on the water, so we could take a swim and enjoy watching the paddle boarders. Not to mention, it is right across the street from the largest luxury shopping mall in all of Hawaii, the Ala Moana Mall. There was tons of great shopping both in the mall and on the streets of Waikiki, and yes, I did some relaxing shopping myself ;).

About my outfit, again, I was going for a simple and casual look for this vacation. Although this dress was bold and bright, I did not dress it up too much. I just added on a couple of accessories and my laced sandals. This dress is one of my few red clothing items. I try to keep a balance of items in each and every color in my closet, but red and purple have the least amount of items. Which is nuts because my favorite color is purple! I guess favorite color and favorite clothing color is different, but still, purple is gorgeous for any clothing item. This red dress clearly shows that red is a gorgeous color for dresses, and goes great with the tribal style. I especially love the hint of teal in it. I added on a large choker necklace, a cuff, and some bangles to complete the look, and voila! The outfit was made for a day at the park.

Adventures on Melrose

I just thought I would share a few photos from my last trip to Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, CA. It is only about a 40 minute drive without traffic for me and it is well worth the drive. Even if you don't find great items at the thrift shops, there are great restaurants and fun independent coffee shops everywhere. It was a beautiful day to thrift shop and hit the West Hollywood area. I love Melrose because of the great thrift shops. My favorite shop is Wasteland. It has theee best selection of vintage items and new designs such as Dolce Vita, Mink Pink and more! I found some great items that you will see in future outfit posts :]

The outfit I chose to wear on this sunny, warm day is very simple. I was feeling very Zoey Deschannel, again. This dress is from H&M and I love the style. The cat designs topped this dress off with cuteness. I love any animal print ;). I am wearing my vintage style shoes because they just went so well with the dress! My mint cross-body bag was purchased at a thrift shop a few months ago, and I love it to death! It just doesn't have enough room for my everyday essentials, sadly. Don't you hate that!?! LOL.

After a day of shopping and walking, I ended it with a perfect Spanish Latte from Urth Caffe. If you are ever in the area, check it out! It is pretty small and busy, so be ready to wait in line for a while. It is so worth it! I had a yummy organic oatmeal cookie along with the latte. They have the best treats, and everything is organic and fresh :] I hope everyone gets a chance to visit.

Chic Grunge

This was a short photoshoot to show off some great new bags for Trend Essentials. I thought instead of posting all of the photos just show off the top 3 bags that I fell in love with. An extra picture of my absolute LOVE.. the Melie Bianco studded satchel. Isn't it gorgeous?! I love the black that can go with anything, and the studs that give it a nice edge to it. The other lovely clutches are Urban Expressions: Lilly Clutch and Chelsea clutch. Of course I chose a couple of bright bags for spring/ summer, but I thought i'd throw in a neutral chic bag in there too.

The oufit worn with these bags was my chic grunge kind of look. If anyone remembers the show Clarissa Explains it all, I felt this was definitely one of her looks. The tights and shorts worn with my combat style boots is a great look that is really trendy right now. My leather bomber jacket I have had for a couple of years and it never gets old! I am wearing a great Beatles shirt I bought from the LOVE show in Las Vegas. That show is a must see! It will blow you away.

Delicate Daisy

Yes, another Spring colorful outfit. It was such a beautfiul day out! This was a very Zoey Deschannel inspired outfit. Bright colors and delicate pieces all in one outfit. I am a huge Zoey fan and loooove that I can see her in her adorable outfits every week on one of my fave shows The New Girl. Anyone else out there a Zoey or New Girl fan??
I love the idea of mixing up colors that are not usually paired together. Like my Orange and Teal combo going on here. The orange/salmon spots are gorgeous for Spring, and YES, I do love ruffles. Although I have a love of ruffles, you CAN go wrong with them. Too much ruffles and ruffles in the wrong places is def a fashion NO-NO. 

Besides the elaborate top, I am wearing one of my favorite colors, teal. Also, my cutsie vintage style shoes. The wonderful clutch I have is an Urban Expressions bag with amazing detailing. It has a great quilted design and a cute little tassel. What more could you ask for in a bag :]

Subtle Curls and Colors

I am very excited to be showing off this dress I purchased from Urban Outfitters over a year ago. At the time I wore it as a club type dress with heels and gold chunky jewelry. Today, I wanted to go for a subtle indie look. Wearing this fabulous dress with my Steve Madden Dark Brown Combat like boots, and knee high socks. Again, I am loving these knee highs with anything. I thought the maroon color was a great contrast to the navy blue in the dress. A sort of warm colored look. 

The jewelry was dark grey and silver. I am sorry I do not have a close- up of it, but my leaf chocker necklace was the perfect piece for this outfit. Antique silver went well with this dress Sterling was just too much, and my chunky grey bangles did not take away from the focus on the dress and socks too much.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Hello fellow fashionistas!!!!

I was out shopping with a friend, who was picking out Vegas outfits, when I came along this beautiful dress! It was on sale and the last in my size, and I had to have it! I'm sure that's happened to all of you. It's like it was meant to be, right?! Well, that is how I felt with this skirt. I don't have to many maxi-type skirts or pleated skirts, and this is actually a great combination in my opinion. This skirt inspired my bohemian look for the day. Wearing it with my laced crop top and platform boots. That just screamed out 70's Boho!

I had to accessorize appropriately with the layered bangles and a pendant necklace. I used a few different bags trying to keep the warm tone of the outfit, but the last bag I had to wear! The last bag as you will see is bright 70's design satchel. It was almost wrong not to wear it with this outfit. That bag is great for the spring/ summer time. The clutches are both very detailed and leather. I hope everyone enjoys the outfit. Please, let me know what you think? :))

Hair Accessories Galore :]

Hello, fashion lovers! It's the beginning of the week, I know. That calls for some "pieces" of inspiration for this week's outfits! By "pieces" I mean "Hair Pieces," of course! Side note: Is it just me or does Pieces look weird after reading it 3 times :P. Anyways, even a small hair accessory can make your whole outfit, or at least inspire your whole outfits look. I decided to take a picture of all of my favorite hair accessories because I randomly wore my American Apparel bow for the first time in a year. I was having a bad hair day, so I put by hair up in a messy bun and it just wasn't enough. I saw my bow and thought, "Why Not?" At that point anything could help my mess that I called hair. It's like I had an outfit epiphany! I knew exactly what I wanted to wear with this "Bow Bun." That is the story that resulted in me taking the time to wear each of my favorite hair pieces with the right hair style, and taking pictures of it. Now starting with the top left:

Taking it back to the 80's

80's comeback is what my inspiration for this outfit! I figure with Spring coming up, all the bright colors and patterns will be the trend of course. I love to incorporate these patterns and colors in every season, but it just fits for Spring. I wanted to keep it comfortable with my suede, moderately heeled boots. I absolutely love stripes, so this cropped blazer is one of my faves, of course. I purchased this blazer at the Patricia Field store in Soho, NY. If you are ever in NY you must stop by this store. If you are not familiar with Patricia Field, she is an amazing designer and was the stylist for 'Sex and the City.' Paired with the blazer, is my high waisted, denim skirt from American Apparel. I wanted to accessorize with gold. My flashy clutch is from http://www.trendessentials.com/ and my peacock necklace is from an Aldo accessories store. Oldies but goodies

I was looking back on some old summer pictures for inspiration for this upcoming Spring! It is always fun to look back on great outfits you loved. I love looking back at old outfits to see how my style has changed overtime and how I try to bring in the season's style with my own little twist. One thing is for sure, layering is a trend in these pictures. I am always a fan of bright colors, boots, and scarves no matter what season. All the great accessories are really what can make or break the outfit. You can keep it simple such as the three photos above, where there is no jewelry, or you can highlight the outfit with bold chunky jewelry. It all depends on the look you are going for. Always remember to change it up and put your unique twist on every outfit, so it is you.

Bright Love

Happy thursday everyone! It is almost the weekend, and I am sure everyone is just as excited as I am! My inspiration for today was the upcoming Holiday, Valentine's Day. I am all for the red and pink combination, but purple is one of my favorite colors and must be incorporated in everything. That is why I am such a big fan of the purple and pink combination for the big V-day. I love the abstract shirt that I am wearing, it really makes the colors in the outfit pop. Don't even get me started on my Steve Madden platforms! I could wear them with every single outfit if I didn't have other shoes that would be neglected. Platform heels run my life right now! It's crazy how this style shoe went from THE shoe to wear in the 70's with great flared pants, to becoming a hooker type see through heel with rhinestones throughout the 90's, and now were back to THE boot to have! I love it. I love looking at fashion and how it cycles throughout the different decades! Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful and bright weekend!
