Fell in love

with these brilliant platforms....

To continue with the 70's patterns and design, I thought I would share my recent Instagram of my new gorgeous platform boots. I was on the search for new platforms and looking for your basic black leather, taupe suede, or mint leather platforms, when these babies caught my eye. Not only do I have a love for 70's patterns, but this was a great pick for my summer wardrobe! The bright color palette, the boho hippie pattern, and platform are perfect to wear with any dress, skirt or pair of shorts. Like I said in one of my recent posts, platforms are a must for your summer shoe selection, not just the typical cute sandals. This is definitely one of those pairs of shoes, and I'm sure you have all experienced this, where you want to create every outfit around them and never take them off. So get ready because the following outfit posts will include my new babies ;))

Have a wonderful Sunday!!!!

Hippie Tapestries

Top: Forever 21// Button-up: Forever 21// Boots: Steve Madden// Sunglasses: H&M

Right when I looked at this 70's tapestry design shirt, I was of course, inspired to create a 70's look. This design is brilliant, and even though our parents might think it is tacky, it is high fashion chic! All of the colors and crazy patterns I adore at the moment are from the 60's/70's decades. To bring out the color and design of the top, I thought i'd wear my orange sheer button-up. A great summer color that, as you can see from past posts, I love to wear! A great pair of jeans went perfectly, and to top off this groovy outfit, I wore my platform boots ;) No jewelry needed. Simple and fierce is all I was going for, but the sunglasses are a hit!

I hope everyone is inspired and has a far out day! ;))

Sunburst

It is all about the simple items. Trying to stay cool during the summer is the goal which is why I thought this was a perfect simple summer outfit. No layering, heavy jewelry, or too much jewelry. I was also inspired by my Jeffrey Campbell heeled sandals because who doesn't want to work their outfit around a pair of Jeffreys!? They paired perfectly with my Betsey Johnson clutch and a couple of gold jewelry pieces. I have had these wonderful high waisted shorts for a while, and they are comfy and the perfect fit! I am all for the high waisted short for the summer season, it brings a sort of vintage look to your wardrobe without even trying! I thought i'd wear a sheer tank to keep this clean and simple look.

I hope everyone is inspired and has a wonderful Tuesday :]

Happy Friday Fashionistas!!

It has been a sunny week over here in so-cal and I had to take advantage of it. Am I crazy for wearing this long sleeved button up on a hot day with the sun beating down on me? Possibly, but I am such a fan of layers and have been inspired by all of the fashion bloggers I follow lately and their layers of goodness. I love the color of this lovely, thin button up, and it paired well with the coral shorts. Of course, for the love of tribal prints, I had to throw in a fun pattern somewhere in this outfit. Enter my black and white tribal design tank.

To finish the outfit off, I decided to wear my suede black booties. As I said in my Summer Festival Post, the booties go so well with shorts, dresses, and skirts. I added in my feather clips to give that "indie zest" that I was looking for. I hope everyone is inspired for the weekend! Make it a good one!

Chic Flow

Chic flow is the first phrase that came to mind when I looked through these pictures. The flowy unbuttoned shirt, the hair in the wind and the all black with a hint of taupe look. I based this whole outfit off of the long sheer button-up I purchased a while ago and have only worn once! It felt necessary to wear it unbuttoned to give it the flowy hippie look that it deserves. I felt inspired by all of the great Coachella outfits i've seen from last weekend. I am loving the tribal design right now.

Working around the shirt, I decided to that I did not want to take away from the length, so I though i'd wear my short vintage, little black dress. It really brought out the design and emphasized on the taupe color of the shirt. The platform boots gave this the chic twist because I could've easily chosen a pair of cute flat sandals. The platform boot, whether it be Jeffrey Campbell Litas or simple platform booties, are a must for the upcoming summer. Wearing them with a pair of high-waisted shorts is a great summer boho look.

I finished this look with my unique Volcom fringe bag, Vintage Rachel Zoe style sunglasses, a teal feather, and a tribal necklace bought in a random vintage/music store in Soho, NY. I hope everyone enjoys this look and is inspired to go out and shop for summer!

Have a wonderful day

What's in your make-up bag?

Happy Friday Fashionistas!!!
I loooove creating outfits and taking photos of them, but I have been trying to catch up with school, work, and my internship after my weekend vacation to Hawaii. I do apologize, and I will have more outfits up soon. I thought I would show you something a little different today. I enjoy when some of my favorite bloggers post about what is in their purse or make-up bag, don't you? It is fun to see what the fashionistas you admire are carrying around in their bags to look as good as they do! I really want to change it up and have a variety of posts other than outfits, so let me know what you think and what you would love to see :]
Now, in my make-up bag I like to carry a good amount of items, and I don't like to think I am forgetting anything throughout the day. I need to know that I can be stranded on an island and have all the items I need to look great! LOL Here, I have my compact powder by Clinique. I have been using Clinique for my face make-up for years. It is wonderful for your skin, especially if you have random break-outs and oily skin. It stays natural looking all day long. I go back and forth with blush brands, but MAC has always been a fave. I love the rockstar glam colors. I also like to use Nars and Benefit for blushes. As for Mascara, I don't know why I carry it around because I never reapply it, but it makes me feel better knowing it's there. I used to use Dior or Benefit's mascara, but honestly this Maybelline mascara works just as good. I get the long and full lashes that I love. Lips are another story. I carry more than one lipstick at all times, and a lipgloss and chapstick too. Burt's Bees is the only way to go for chapsticks. I love mint fresh feeling you get when applying it. Lipgloss is usually MAC's lipglass or something similar. They have gorgeous shades and put a lovely finish on your lips. Lipsticks, I can wear any brand. MAC has great sheer finish colors, and covergirl and L'oreal have beautiful, long lasting colors.

To finish this up, besides make-up I carry my cute butterfly mirror I received as a gift. I love cutesie gadgets like that, and like my "chill pill" pill case for my vitamins and fish oil pills. I hope everyone enjoys!

Have a fantastic weekend!
